Spatio-temporal and synoptic changes in dust at the three islands in the Persian Gulf region

The occurrence of severe and inclusive dust storms has caused a lot damage every year in the Persian Gulf region it destructive environmental effects this area. aim study is to investigate monthly changes frequency over Khark, Kish Qeshm islands located during 10-year period (2007–2017) using satellite model observations. results show that highest was observed Island followed by Khark Islands. number dusty days reported all three stations 2008 most events occurred May July as compared other months. average wind speed these two months (May July) shows directions are mostly from northern northwestern areas. AOD evaluation eight prediction models simulated patterns vary differently each for storm on 14, 2014 Among models, DREAM8-MACC better performance good agreement with analysis showed high correlation (R = 0.74) between AERONET at observation sites.
